Size: To fit chest measurements:

Small – 32"-34"

Medium – 36"-38"

Large – 40"-42"

X-Large – 44"-46"

2X – 48"-50"

Note:  The choice of yarn and hook size is dependent on obtaining the correct gauge needed for the size desired.

Materials:

For S, M, and/or Large - Light Weight Yarn :

     Off White (MC) - 3½ oz, 254 yds (100g, 232 m)

     Colors A, B & C - Various scrap colors.

For L, XL or 2X - Medium Weight Yarn :

     Off White (MC) - 7 oz, 492 yds (200g, 450 m)

     Colors A, B & C - Various scrap colors.

Additional Materials: Yarn Needle.

Suggested Crochet Hooks to Obtain Gauge:

For Small - Size F-5 (3.75 mm)

For Medium - Size G-6 (4.00 mm)

For Large - Size H-8 (5.00 mm)

For X-Large - Size I-9 (5.50 mm)

For 2X - Size J-10 (6.00 mm)

Gauge:

After all four rounds of Hexagon:

For Small - Each side = 2¼"

4" from side to side & 4½" diagonal (point to point)

For Medium - Each side = 2½"

4½" from side to side & 5" diagonal (point to point)

For Large - Each side = 2¾"

5" from side to side & 5¾" diagonal (point to point)

For X-Large - Each side = 3"

5½" from side to side & 6½" diagonal (point to point)

For 2X - Each side = 3½"

6" from side to side & 7" diagonal (point to point)

This easy to follow crochet pattern is for a retro looking vest. The sizes are small, medium, large, extra large and 2X from 32 inches up to 50 inches. The gauge is determined by the choice of yarn and the hook size. For the small medium and large use a lightweight number three yarn in various scrap colors.

The whole project is great for using all of your scrap yarns. For sizes large extra large and 2X you’ll use a heavier medium weight yarn number four. The crochet hooks that you may need to obtain gauge are size FGHI or J for the largest size 2X. I would love to see your crochet creations. Send pictures and we will post them on this page.
