Super Easy American Girl Doll Skirt

Beginner Skill

Size: Fits 18” dolls

Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn
Main skirt color – 72 yds
Trim and tie color - 9 yds

Crochet Hook: Size G-6 (4.25 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 3 shell rows = 2”

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Special Stitches

Shell: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in stitch or space indicated.

Skirt
Rnd 1: (Right Side): Starting at waist, with MC,ch 51, being careful to not twist ch, join with sl st to 1st ch to form ring, ch 3, dc in next ch around, join with sl st to first sc. (51 sc)
Rnds 2-8: Sl st in next dc and ch-2 sp, ch 3 (counts as 1st dc now and throughout), (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same dc as joining, (skip next 2 dc, shell in next dc) around, join with sl st to first dc. (17 shells)

At the end of Rnd 8, finish off.

Rnd 9: With right side facing, join CC with sl st to any ch-2 space, ch 3, 4 dc in same sp, 5 dc in next ch-2 sp around, join. Finish off and weave in ends.

Finishing
For drawstring; with MC, ch 100, finish off and weave in ends.
Weave drawstring through dc on Rnd 1 of skirt.
