Intermediate Skill
Size: Fits Family Size box of tissues.
Materials:Yarn Needle; Worsted Weight Yarn;
White (MC) - 3 oz, 165 yd (84 g, 149 m);
Pink (CC) - 1 oz, 55 yd (28 g, 50 m);
Elastic - ¼" wide x 24" long.
Crochet Hook:Size H-8 (5.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 7 sc and 8 rows = 2".

JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.
Special Stitches
Beginning Cluster Stitch (beg cl-st): Ch 3, keeping last lp of each st on hook, work 2 dc in same st as joining, yo and draw through all 3 lps on hook.
Cluster Stitch (cl-st):keeping last lp of each st on hook, 3 dc in next st, yo and draw through all 4 lps on hook.
Top
Row 1: Starting at top, with MC, ch 32, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (31 sc)
CH 1, TURN EACH ROW.
Rows 2-8: Sc in each sc across.
Row 9(Opening Row): Sc in next 8 sc, ch 15, skip next 15 sc, sc in next 8 sc. (16 sc)
Row 10:Sc in each sc and ch across. (31 sc)
Rows 11-17:Sc in each sc across.
Rnd 1:3 sc in first sc, sc in each of next 29 sc, 3 sc in last sc; * working in ends of rows, work 16 sc evenly spaced *; working in unused lps of starting ch, 3 sc in first ch, sc in next 29 chs, 3 sc in last ch; rep from * to *; join with sl st to first sc. (102 sc) Finish off and weave in ends.
Motifs(Make 6)
Rnd 1 (Right Side): With MC, ch 2, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 2(Petal Rnd): With right side facing, join CC with sl st to any sc, beg cl-st, ch 3, (cl-st, ch 3) around; join with sl st to beg cl-st. (8 cl-sts, 8 ch-3 sps) Finish off and weave in ends.
Rnd 3:With right side facing, join MC with sl st to any ch-3 sp, ch 2 (counts as first hdc), (2 hdc, ch 2, 3 hdc in same sp as joining, 3 hdc in next ch-3 sp, *(3 hdc, ch 2, 3 hdc) in next ch-3 sp, 3 hdc in next ch-3 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st to first hdc. (36 hdc) Finish off leaving long end.
Sides(Make 2)
Row 1 (Right Side):With W, ch 19, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (18 sc)
CH 1, TURN EACH ROW.
Rows 2-11:Sc in each sc across.
At the end of Row 11, finish off leaving long end.
Finishing
- With right sides together, working in back lps only and using long ends, sew 2 strips of 3 motifs each.
- With right sides together, working in back lps only and using long ends, sew short ends of Sides to short ends of Motif strips.
- With right sides together, working in back lps only, sew edge of Top Rnd 1 to Sides and Motifs.
Bottom Edge
Rnd 1:With right side facing, join MC with st to any st at bottom of cover, sc evenly spaced around edge of cover.
Rnd 2: Ch 2, do not turn, decreasing 4 sts at each corner, hdc evenly spaced around; join with sl st to first hdc. Finish off and weave in ends.
Weave elastic through Rnd 2 and tie ends.
Top Edging
With right side facing and working in reverse sc loosely from left to right, join CC to any unused lp of Top Rnd 1, * insert hook in next st to the right, , pull up a loop, yo and draw through both lps on hook; rep from * around, join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
With CC, reverse sc around opening.
