Queen Elizabeth I is credited with the creation of the first Gingerbread Men, but you can take all of the credit for these. Just the sight of this Gingerbread Man afghan is sure to bring a milk-and-cookie smile to anyone's face. Little ones will enjoy delicious dreams when they curl up with the matching doll, and even the tiniest of Christmas revelers can raise a festive racket with the Gingerbread Man rattle. Because all of the trim work is crocheted and sewn on, the toys are perfectly safe for younger children.
This entire set is worked in worsted weight yarn using basic crochet stitches. While the pattern has an intermediate skill rating, most of it is comprised of simple stitches with just a few ever-so-slightly tricky parts. Adventurous newer crocheters looking for a moderate challenge would certainly be able to successfully complete the project.
