Pretty Posey

Skill: Easy

Size: Varies depending upon yarn and hook size

Materials: This pattern can be worked in any thread or yarn. Thread or fine yarn will produce smaller flowers; thicker yarns will produce larger flowers. Yardage will vary depending on the material used.

We used Pink for the petals and Green for the leaves.

Crochet Hook: Hook size will vary depending on the yarn chosen for the project.

¾ inch button – size needed may vary depending on the size yarn you choose

In the video, we used worsted weight cotton yarn and a size H-8 hook.

 

Abbreviations

ch - chain

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

lp - loop

sl st - slip stitch

st - stitch

yo – yarn over

 

Treble Crochet (abbreviated tr) - YO twice, insert hook in st or sp indicated, YO and pull up a loop (4loops on hook), (YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) 3 times.

 

FLOWER

With Pink, ch 4; join with slip st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: (Right side):Ch 1, 8 sc in ring; join with slip st to first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 3, (2 tr, ch 3, slip st) in same st as joining (Petal made), (slip st, ch 3, 2 tr, ch 3, slip st) in each sc around; do not join: 8 Petals.

Rnd 3: * Ch 4, keeping ch behind Petals, skip sp between next 2 Petals, slip st in sp between next 2 Petals; repeat from * around; do not join, finish off: 4 ch-4 sps.

Rnd 4: With right side facing, join Green with slip st in any ch-4 sp; ch 1, (sc, hdc, 5 dc, hdc, sc, slip st) in same sp and in each ch-4 sp around; join with slip st to first sc, finish off and weave in ends: 4 leaves.


Sew a white button on to the center of the posey.
