Size: Covers 15 oz (Vegetable) Can
Materials: Worsted Weight Yarn:
White (W) - 3 oz, (84 g), 165 yd, (150 m)
Peach (P) - 1 oz (28 g), 55 yd (50 m)
Small amount Green (G);
Yarn needle; Sewing needle and thread, Hot (or Craft) Glue; 15 oz (Vegetable) Can
Plastic Lid to fit Can
1½" White Pompom
¼" wide Satin Ribbon - 24" long
8 mm Pearls - 3
¼" wide Elastic - 12" long
Crochet Hook: Size F-5 (3.75 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.

CAN COVER
Rnd 1:(Right Side) Starting at the center bottom, using W, ch 1 (center ch), ch 3 (counts as first dc now and throughout), 11 dc in center ch; join with sl st to first dc. (12 dc)
DO NOT TURN EACH ROUND.
Rnd 2:Ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around; join. (24 dc)
Rnd 3:Ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join. (36 dc)
Rnd 4:Ch 3, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc) around; join. (48 dc)
Rnd 5:Ch 3, working in back loops only, dc in each dc around; join.
Rnds 6-14:Ch 3, working in both loops, dc in each dc around; join.
At the end of Rnd 14, finish off and weave in ends.
Bottom Shell Round
Rnd 1:With right side facing and open end towards you, working in unused lps of Rnd 5, join P with sl st to any lp, * skip next lp, 7 dc in next lp, skip next lp, sl st in next lp; rep from * around. (12 shells) Finish off and weave in ends.
FLOWER
Rnd 1:(Right Side) Starting at center, ch 2, (sc, ch 10) 5 times in 2nd ch from hook; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off leaving long end.
LEAVES (Make 2)
Row 1:(Right Side) With G, ch 8, sl st in 3rd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch. Finish off leaving long end.
Finishing
- Slip cover over Coffee Can.
- Sew or Glue Flower to center front of Can Cover.
- Sew or Glue Leaves on either side of Flower.
- Sew or Glue Pearls to center of Flower.
- Weave Elastic through Rnd 19 and fasten ends.
LID COVER
Bottom of Cover
Rnds 1-4:With P, rep Rnds 1-4 of Can Cover.
At the end of Rnd 4, finish off and weave in ends.
Top of Cover
Rnds 1-4:With P, rep Rnds 1-4 of Can Cover.
At the end of Rnd 4, DO NOT FINISH OFF.
- Cut rim off Plastic Lid.
Rnd 5: - With right sides facing (wrong sides together) of Top of Cover and Bottom of Cover, place Plastic Lid between pieces, working through both thicknesses, matching stitches, ch 1, (sc in next dc) around, enclosing plastic lid; join.
Rnds 6-7:Rep Rnds 5-6 of Can Cover.
Rnd 8:Ch 1, (skip next dc, 7 dc in next dc, skip next dc, sl st in next dc) around. (12 shells) Finish off and weave in ends.
Finishing
- With right side facing, attach Pompom to center top of Lid Cover.
- Thread Ribbon through Rnd 6 of Lid Cover and tie in bow at the front.
