Pineapple Blossoms Doily

Size:10-1/2" Round
Materials: Crochet Cotton Thread, size 10
Blue (CC) – 20 yds (36 meters)
White (MC) – 80 yds (72 meters)
Sewing Needle, Cardboard, Non-rust Pins, Plastic Wrap, Heavy Spray Starch.
Crochet Hook: Steel #8 (1.5 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: Rnds 1-2 = 1-1/2"
cluster st (cl-st):
Keeping last lp of each st on hook, 5 dc in st or sp,
YO and draw through 6 lps on hook.
beg shell:ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc.
shell:2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc.

Directions
Rnd 1 (right side): With MC, ch 6, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, 16 sc in ring; join with sl st in first sc. (16 sc)
Rnd 2:Ch 3, keeping last lp of each st on hook, 4 dc in same st as joining, YO and draw through 5 lps on hook (beg cl-st made), ch 3, skip next st, (cl-st in next st, ch 3, skip next st) around; join with sl st in top of beg cl-st. (8 cl-sts) Fasten off.
Rnd 3:Right Side Facing join CC in any ch-3 sp,
(beg cl-st, ch 3, cl-st) in same sp, ch 9, * (cl-st, ch 3, cl-st) in next sp, ch 9; rep from * around; join with
sl st in beg cl-st. (16 cl-sts)
Rnd 4:Sl st in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp,
(7 dc, ch 3, 7 dc) in next ch-9 lp, * sc in next ch-3 sp, (7 dc, ch 3, 7 dc) in next ch-9 lp; rep from * around; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Pineapple Edging
First Pineapple Row 1:Sl st in next 2 dc and
ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 2, sc in next ch-1 sp, (ch 4, sc in next ch-1 sp) 3 times, ch 2, shell in next shell.
Row 2:Ch 1, turn, sl st in next 2 dc and ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 2, sc in next ch-4 sp, (ch 4, sc in next ch-4 sp) twice, ch 2, shell in next shell.
Row 3:Ch 1, turn, sl st in next 2 dc and ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 2, sc in next ch-4 sp, ch 4, sc in next ch-4 sp, ch 2, shell in next shell.
Row 4:Ch 1, turn, sl st in next 2 dc and ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 2, sc in next ch-4 sp, ch 2, shell in next shell.
Row 5:Ch 1, turn, sl st in next 2 dc and ch-2 sp, beg shell in same sp, ch 1, shell in next shell.
Row 6:Ch 1, turn, sl st in each st across next shell, sl st in sp between shell, beg shell in same sp. Fasten off.
Next Pineapple
Row 1:With Right Side of Doily Facing you, join yarn in ch-2 sp of next unworked shell of Rnd 8, beg shell in same sp, ch 2, sc in next ch-1 sp, (ch 4, sc in next ch-1 sp) 3 times, ch 2, shell in next shell.
Rows 2-6:Rep Rows 2-6 of First Pineapple. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Continue working pineapple shells around entire outside edge of Doily.
Starching
Draw a 10-1/2" circle on cardboard. Place Plastic Wrap across Cardboard. Place Doily on Plastic Wrap. Pin Doily to 10-1/2" round. Generously Spray Doily with Heavy Spray Starch. Allow to dry completely.
This method allows for washing and re-starching whenever necessary.
