CHRISTMAS WREATH PILLOW
SKILL LEVEL - Easy
Size: 14" diameter
Materials:
Worsted Weight Yarn, 7 ounces Off White (W); 2 ounces Green (G); ½ ounce Red (R)
14" Pillow Form;
Yarn Needle
Crochet Hook: Size, I or size required for gauge
Gauge: Rnds 1 and 2 = 3-1/2"
Abbreviations
Popcorn (pc): Work 4 dc in sp, remove lp from hook, insert hook from front to back in first dc of 4 dc group, pick up dropped lp, pull through dc.
Picot: Ch 4, sl st in first ch.
Pillow Front
With W, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring.
Rnd 1 (right side): Ch 3 (counts as dc now and throughout), 17 dc in ring; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3 (18 dc). Mark this as right side. Do not turn each rnd.
Rnd 2: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), (dc in next st, ch 1)17 times, join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4
(18 ch-1 sps). Finish off.
Rnd 3: Right Side Facing, join G in any ch-1 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same sp, remove lp from hook, insert hook from front to back in 3rd ch of beg ch-3, pick up dropped lp, pull through ch (beg pc made); ch 2, (pc in next sp,ch 2) 17 times; join with sl st in top of beg pc (18 pc).
Rnd 4: Sl st in next ch-2 sp, ch 3, beg pc in same sp, ch 3, (pc in next ch-2 sp, ch 3)17 times; join with sl st in top of beg pc (18 pc). Finish off.
Rnd 5: Right Side Facing, join W in any ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in same sp; 4 dc in each sp around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (Join all dc rnds in this manner). (72 dc)
Eyelet Rnd 6: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), skip next st, (dc in next st, ch 2, skip next st) around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-5. (36 ch-2 sps)
Rnd 7: Sl st in next sp, ch 3, dc in same sp, 3 dc in next 2 sps, (2 dc in next sp, 3 dc in next 2 sps) around; join. (96 dc)
Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in next 6 sts , 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 7 sts , 2 dc in next st) around, join. (108 dc)
Rnd 9: Ch 3, dc in next 7 sts , 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 8 sts , 2 dc in next st) around, join. (120 dc) Finish off.
Wreath Trim
With a double strand of R, ch 90 and finish off. Loosely weave through popcorn sts of Rnds 3 and 4. Tie ends and finish off.
Wreath Bow
With a double strand of R, ch 55 and finish off. Tie into bow and glue or tack in place on tied ends of Trim.
Pillow Back
Rnd 1 (right side): With W, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 3, work 11 dc in ring; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3; join. DO NOT TURN EACH RND. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in each st around, join. (24 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st, (dc in next st, 2 dc in next st) around, join. (36 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next st, 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 2 sts , 2 dc in next st) around, join. (48 dc)
Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in next 2 sts , 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 3 sts , 2 dc in next st) around, join. (60 dc)
Rnd 6: Ch 3, dc in next 3 sts , 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 4 sts , 2 dc in next st) around, join. (72 dc)
Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc in next 4 sts , 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 5 sts , 2 dc in next st) around, join. (84 dc)
Rnd 8: Ch 3, dc in next 5 sts , 2 dc in next st, (dc in next 6 sts , 2 dc in next st) around, join. (96 dc)
Rnds 9-10: Repeat Rnds 8-9 of Pillow Front
Joining Rnd: Place Pillow front and back together with wrong sides facing. Working through both sides at the same time; join G in any st, ch 1, sc in same st as joining and in each st around inserting pillow before completing rnd; join with al st in first sc. Do not fasten off.
Ruffle
Rnd 1: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2) dc in same st as joining, ch 2, (dc, ch 2) twice in each st around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-5. (240 dc)
Rnd 2: Sl st in next sp, ch 5, (dc in next sp, ch 2) around; join.
Rnd 3: Sl st in next sp, ch 7, sl st in 4th ch from hook (beg picot made), (dc, picot) in each sp around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-7. Finish off and weave in ends.
