Size: One size fits most adults
26" in diameter at collar,
44" in diameter at the bottom,
11" tall.
Materials:
Bulky Weight Yarn – Blue (MC), 5 ½ oz, 225 yds
(154 grams, 203 meters)
Worsted Weight Yarn – Black (CC), ½ oz, 30 yds
(14 grams, 27 meters)
Model made with Patons® Divine and Décor Yarns.
Yarn Needle
Crochet Hook: Size J-10 (6 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 4 dc and 2 dc rows = 2" (5 cm)
Gauge Swatch: 4" (10 cm)
Row 1: Ch 12, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. (10 dc)
Rows 2-5: Ch 3, dc in next dc and in each dc across. (10 dc) Finish off.
Note: If your swatch is larger or smaller than specified, make another, changing hook size to get the correct gauge. If your swatch is too small, use a larger hook. If your swatch is too large, use a smaller hook. Keep trying until you find the size hook that will give you the specified gauge.

Special Stitches
Double Crochet Decrease (dc-dec): Keeping last lp of each st on hook, dc in next 2 sts, yo and pull through 3 lps on hook.
JOINING WITH SC
When instructed to join with sc, begin with sl knot on hook, insert hook in st or sp indicated, yo and pull up a loop, yo and draw through both loops on hook.

Row 1 (right side): Starting at neckline, with MC ch 51, ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout), dc in 4th ch from hook and in next 4 ch, 2 dc in next ch, (dc in next 3 ch, 2 dc in next ch) 10 times, dc in next 4 ch, 2 dc in last ch. (64 dc) TURN AT THE END OF EACH ROW.
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in first dc and in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 11 times, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in last dc. (78 dc)
Row 3: Ch 3, dc in first dc and in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc, (dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc) 11 times, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in last dc. (92 dc)
Rows 4-9: Ch 3, dc in each dc across. (92 dc)
Rows 10-13: Ch 3, dc-dec, dc in each dc across to last 3 dc, dc-dec, dc in last dc. (90, 88, 86, 84 dc)
At the end of Row 13 finish off.
Collar
Row 1: With wrong side facing, working in unused lps of foundation ch, join MC with a sl st to first lp (mark this lp), ch 3, dc in same lp and in next 2 lps, 2 dc in next lp, (dc in next 3 lps, 2 dc in next lp) 11 times. (64 dc)
Rows 2-3: Rep Capelet Rows 2-3.
Finish off and weave in loose ends.
Finishing
Collar Edging
Row 1: With right side facing, join CC with a sl st to marked lp of Collar Row 1, working along sides of rows, (ch 3, sl st in top of next dc) 3 times, ch 3, sl st in same dc; working across Collar Row 3, (ch 3, skip next dc, sl st in next dc) across to last dc, ch 3, sl st in same dc; working along sides of rows, (ch 3, sl st in top of next dc) twice, ch 3, sl st in last ch of foundation ch (mark this ch). Finish off.
Ties
Join 2 strands of CC to either marked lp of Collar, ch 50. Finish off.
Rep for opposite Tie.
Capelet Edging
Row 1: With right side facing, join MC with a sc in first marked lp of foundation ch, * working along sides of rows, 2 sc in side of each dc *, sc in each dc across Capelet Row 13, rep * to * once, sl st in marked foundation ch. Finish off
Row 2: With right side facing, join CC with a sl st in first sc of Capelet Edging Row 1, ch 3, skip next sc, * sl st in next sc, ch 3, skip next sc, rep from * around Capelet, end with a sl st in marked foundation ch. Finish off and weave in ends.
