Betty the Barbecue Chef Crochet Pattern
It's a busy day for our favorite crocheted doll, Betty because from her crochet patterns she's having a bunch of friends over for a Sunday barbecue. When the guests arrive, she greets them at the door wearing a sweet, striped crocheted slip dress, a beautiful crocheted bolero and her best red sling back shoes. What a well-dressed hostess she is! Once everyone is comfortable, sipping ice cold lemonade, Betty takes off the bolero and slips on her checkered apron (to protect her slip dress) and a tall chef's hat. Now she's ready to fire up the grill!
Betty the Barbecue Chef Crochet Pattern set has the crochet instructions for the red and white striped slip dress, the white bolero with red trim, the checkered apron with three pockets, the chef's hat with checkered band and the red sling back shoes.
Size 10 cotton crochet thread is used to crochet all the pieces of the outfit except for the sling back shoes, which require worsted weight cotton yarn. Besides the standard crochet stitches, the special stitches used in this crochet pattern set include a cluster stitch and a single crochet decrease stitch. Instructions for these special stitches are also included in the crochet pattern. You will need two crochet hooks: Size C-2 (2.75 mm) for using with crochet thread; and size F-5 (3.75 mm) for crocheting with yarn. The extra materials needed are two red half-inch buttons, a thread needle and a yarn needle.
The crochet pattern for this 18" doll would also fit the 18" American Girl Doll.
Enjoy your picnic with this crochet pattern!
